No-Makeup/Makeup Success

It can be a hard look to pull off once your past the prime young age of 22… Sun damage and fine lines are a concern as well as unwelcome redness and dark circles. Our natural instinct is to cover cover cover, or throw in the towel all together and just say, “screw it, I’m beyond help.” I’ve been playing with product combos for a while now, and have finally come up with a set that works! Now, don’t think that this look means LESS products… it really doesn’t cut out many steps. You apply less… and it is pretty quick, but you still need to follow the process.

1)Prime your skin with a radiance boosting primer (if your really oily you can use an alternate non/shiny primer) – I used Laura Mercier Radiance Primer

2)Chanel CC Cream with SPF 50 to add a little coverage and even out your skin tone. I used shade 30.

3)Gucci concealer – I love the texture! It won’t cover major blemishes, but it does subtly blur imperfections. I used shade 30 under my eyes and around my nose and cheeks.

4)Dot a creamy cheek color, I used the Nars Multiple in Orgasm along the top of your cheek bone and then blend with your fingers… keep layering until you are happy with the saturation of color.

5)Set all over with a little loose powder (LITTLE being the key word). I used Chanel, also shade 30.

6)LIGHTLY add a little contour under your cheek and jaw. I used the Laura Mercier Baked bronzer in #4.

7)Highlight your cheekbones, the bridge of your nose, and bow of your lip. I used the Victoria Beckham x Estee Lauder Modern Muse highlighter… which is AMAZEBALLS (but I think it is pretty much sold out everywhere – so I linked to a very similar Laura Mercier version).

8)Almost done!!!! Even out and brighten your lid with a matte/opaque eye base. I used Trish McEvoy eye base in Sand.

9)I added a little color and hold with YSL brow gel (my brows are almost transparent with no product on them). This visually frames the eye and adds lift.

10)Layer on Mascara! I used my favorite Gucci mascara with the tiny wand that I can wigggle wiggle wiggle right at the base of my lashes to create volume and separation.

11)Add a little lip. I used my favorite Chanel Glossimer in Beige. It adds just a little depth and shine to the natural lip color.

My goal was to have dewey youthful (even looking) skin, and enough enhancement for my eyes that I don’t look tired. This is an unfiltered photo of the final results:
