Holiday Entertaining Inspiration

holiday entertaining

One of my favorite parts of the holiday season is entertaining for friends and family. (Yes, I know what you’re thinking…even in our tiny apartment!) I enjoy putting time into curating an eclectic tablescape, creating a signature cocktail, and planning a delicious menu. I have pulled together a few of my favorite pieces that can easily be mixed and matched because of their common theme (gold, duh!). I am a huge fan of the organic arrangement that Caitlin created in this glitter guide article (pictured above). The color palette of deep purple, blush, green, and lilac feels very fresh for a chic holiday soiree. The bar cart (from Target) is a life saver, especially when working with small spaces.

My tips for creating an extra special event? Don’t forget about the little details… burn a great candle (my favorite this time of year is the Nest Holiday candle), play some festive music or a simple fireplace loop, and create a nice thoughtful favor for your guests. People love to sip and nibble while they mingle, so have plenty of surfaces available (and coasters) so that plates and drinks can be set down easily (this will help you spend less time on clean-up duty). My last tip, invest in a nice cheese assortment. This is always a big hit, almost everyone likes cheese, and can create a beautiful display/focal point as well!
