The crisp fall air carries with it an intense desire to update and renew ones wardrobe… at least it does for me 🙂 but it’s hard for me to NOT find an excuse to shop! I have picked a few (mostly moderately priced) fall must haves that I am looking at for fall wardrobe updates.
I think the number 1 thing everyone needs to snag this season is a chic thin knit turtleneck (see my choice above from Zara for just $29.90). You will be able to wear it with literally everything this season!
Costume jewelry is one of the least expensive and easiest ways to update your wardrobe, and I (along with literally everyone) have been obsessed with bauble bar’s edits. Their prices are great, and the designs are very on trend. Olivia Palermo (LOVE her style) is the current guest bar tender, and everything she chose is fab… but I particularly love this over-sized ear crawler! The other jewelry item to add is a STATEMENT necklace! This hand cut quartz Tibetan collar is perfect – it’s neutral, so you will find yourself wearing it again and again. I’d pair it with my turtleneck sweaters and my simple shift dresses! USE the code AMIGOS to get 25% off your bauble bar order right NOW!
Now, speaking of the shift dress… I can’t get enough of them! Banana Republic has been rocking this silhouette this season, and I have already purchased 4! I like them in solids or simple color blocks so that they can be styled in several ways. Burgundy is a must-have color, so this version with 3/4 sleeves and a faux leather hem is perf. I also love the version with a green wool hem line and a faux leather yoke. Use code BRSAVE for 40% off!
Texture is one of my favorite fall trends (think of the wool hem on the dress I just mentioned), the best way to style this trend is to LAYER the textures. Think smooth leather with knobby tweed, and chunk knit, and feathers, and fur, and buttery suede, and studs… all together? WHY NOT? The Milly coat above is the most expensive item on my list at $795, but it’s classic cream and black palette mean you will be able to wear it for many years to come and the fabulous feathered trim make it very NOW. AND you can score 25% off using code THANKYOU that’ll save you a cool $200. I’m also in DIRE need of a pair of block heeled over the knee boots. The club monaco pair shown above are my top choice in a beautiful shade of grey. They look great paired with skirts/dresses/skinnies. This Vince pair is also a great option in a black or brown python print! I am also dying for this boiled wool moto jacket from Ann Taylor in a great medium grey tone with gold hardware. Pair it with leather pants and a fur scarf to stay right on trend this fall!
The midi skirt is still a hot item – and I love the pleated update on this one with a slight coating to make it a little heavier and more seasonally appropriate than summers light and airy versions. You can wear this Zara version (just $69) with slouchy boots or pointed heels/flats for a great sophisticated look.
Did anyone else notice all of the flats shown for fashion month? Pretty exciting to know that we can be waltzing around in style AND comfort this season! I just scooped up this pair of Tory Burch flats in black… and I absolutely love them! And, bonus… they just went on SALE… so don’t wait 🙂
I cannot wait to start layering, wearing coats, boots, hats… scarves!!! Unfortunately, it’s still 90 degrees in Houston, but at least the nights have cooled down enough to pull out some of my light weight fall styles! Thanks for stopping by! XO Sara
